Sixpack Projects had a great opening at 170 N Promenade in Long Beach featuring artists Preston Daniels and Patrick Strand.  Here, Daniels’ iconoclastic architectural mixed-media sculptures are both intimidating and inviting—combining humanistic reverence with apocalyptic urban decay.

The exhibition runs until April 16th.

The Torrance Art Museum presented Gateway Japan, curated by Yuko Wakaume and Max Presnell, combined with a relief effort art sale for those affected by the recent events in Japan.  In addition, there was live Sumo wrestling.   The exhibition runs until April 30th.

Thank you to Jason Ramos, Assistant Curator, for the invitation.
