The City of Costa Mesa’s Cultural Arts Committee’s 1st annual “Day of Art” event will be held June 13, from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. This event is designed to make the public aware of the Costa Mesa’s galleries and the artists they exhibit. The event will be free to the public and held at different galleries and spaces around the entire city.

Oh yes, and we have pizza! Yum.

it is the final week to view highlights of the private collection of curator Johnny Sampson at The Box gallery’s presentation of Numb. The exhibition includes works by Sam Brown, Brian Christenson, Jennifer Dunnett, Shepard Fairey, Blaine Fontana, Derrick Hess, Anthony Mangicapra, Jolanda Olie, Matthew Price, Ragnar, Jophen Stein, Chris Uminga, and others.

Artists Aaron Kraten and Keith Noordzy have united at The Box gallery for Kraken and Kraten, an exhibition designed to showcase their new works in an intimate setting. The Box gallery is a proud sponsor of the soundDowntown 2008 live painting exhibition on the second street promenade in the Santa Ana Artist’s Village. Featuring urban artists, including MEEXONE, Vince “Hearsee” Calanoc, and Michael Pukac, the performance will include traditional painting, live street art, and an interactive multi-media laser graffiti installation. Aaron Kraten / Jeff Claassen Wallets for sale!!!:

Artists Aaron Kraten (featured in our Grand Opening exhibition) and Jeff Claassen (from the Et Tu, Brute? show) have collaborated creating signed, limited edition art wallets. Out of the 40 that were made there are only about 10 left. Once these designs are gone they are gone for good. They will not be reprinted, so if you’d like one this would be the time to snag one up. Each wallet has been signed and numbered by Aaron.
